Membership & Rules

Annual membership is available from the club or over the counter at Baileys of Warwick, Lanes of Coventry and Tusses tackle shops.

The book runs from May to May and is priced at £17

Work parties are essential — do muck in!
Rules are relaxed and not unfairly restrictive on our waters, but unhooking mats should be used when targeting large specimen fish such as carp and tench, pike and barbel and retention in nets and sacks in these cases is not advisable. Fish care is important and all species are to be treated respectfully, large specimens of especially barbel and pike to be rested properly before release and small species not packed tightly into nets too small for catch weights.

Ground bait should be used in moderation, especially at the Racecourse Reservoir where barbless hooks are also required.

Air-dry nets thoroughly between fishing sessions to ensure non-transference of diseases from one fishery to another.

Please do not play radios or portable stereos at volumes likely to interfere with the enjoyment of others and tone down bite alarms and their volumes to acceptable limits please.

Rules that are not to be broken are ~
  • No lighting of bonfires
  • No litter to be left whatsoever
  • Waste line to be taken home or cut into inch long shreds at the very least
  • No unofficial bank or bank-side cover alterations except pruning of small branches
  • No walking over farm crops or crossing of fences except where access is provided
  • All gates must be closed after passing through
  • No parking except where permissible
  • No driving over the Racecourse to access the reservoir

The law requires that ~
  • No fish to be transferred between waters except under license
  • No non-indigenous species to be introduced to any waterway
  • Livebaits must be sourced at the fishery, can be transported only as far as reasonable day's walk on river stretches, and must not be brought in from elsewhere under any circumstances

* A current Environment Agency non-migratory trout and coarse fishing rod license is required and costs £27 available from your local Post Office or online.

For up to two rods one license is necessary but for fishing three rods then two licenses are required. Anglers fishing without licenses risk a hefty fine as do those fishing rivers out of season, March 15th - June 16th.
